Family Safety Morning Details

Family Safety Morning’s inaugural event took place in July of 2019 at our base in Tortola and was a big success.  The “Open House” gave the community a chance to take a ride on our rescue vessel, try out our medical equipment, watch a live demonstration from the RVIPF K9 unit, test out the hose and sirens on the fire truck and so much more!  In total, our helms took out over 100 children and adults for boat rides, and an estimated 150 people joined us throughout the morning.

BVI Emergency Agencies and BVI Family Support Network join together

On hand were Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue, Virgin Islands Shipping and Registry, Department of Disaster Management, BVI Red Cross, and Family Support Network.

All of the agencies brought games and educational material to teach children and families how to stay safe in the British Virgin Islands.

This event is put on in partnership with the volunteer-based US summer program Go Beyond. Whose staff and students donate their time to set up/break down and facilitate the event.
