PRESS RELEASE - On Saturday May 15th The VG VISAR unit teamed up with the Virgin Gorda Catholic Youth Group for a joint medical training program. The Youth Group led by Debby Bruce acted as casualties for the various medical scenarios.
Eight stations were set up and each responder had to assess and identify the illness or injury by asking the appropriate questions. The young men and women of the Youth Group proved themselves to be excellent actors.... some only able to "moan" in response to assessment questions. "It was a great day of training which everyone enjoyed, our responders really had to be on there toes to diagnose each situation correctly," said Murray Maxwell Virgin Gorda Action Representative.
In a letter to Debby Bruce from the VISAR crew, the group was again thanked for the excellent help provided throughout the day.
"They are fantastic, we not only enjoyed the training but enjoyed meeting them, and some for the second time. You have done a wonderful job and I wish there were a hundred more of you in the BVI to help all young people. You are making a difference," said Mr. Maxwell.
