RBVIYC host a treasure hunt for local Pirates!
The members of the RBVIYC and VISAR competed in the Pirates are
Back Treasure Hunt Saturday. 9 yachts, both power and sail, competed in
the hunt for treasure by deciphering clues left at various establishments on
the out-lying islands of the Sir Francis Drake Channel.
Along the way participants were encouraged to "pillage and plunder"
yachts for VISAR donations. This in itself was a contest as participants
tried to out do each other by being the team to collect the most money.
A big surprise was the number of children involved who enjoyed the
hunt for clues. They also played a key role in filling the VISAR tins.
