Time of call: 1235, Time of launch: 1240
A worker in Road Town called in to report a commotion at the Cruise Ship Dock. As he was the other side of the harbour he could only say that there appeared to be a dock worker pulled into the water and many people around trying to help. The caller had sensibly also called the Police and Fire department. The VISAR Coordinator, though the details were sketchy decided to launch Spirit. As the crew arrived and prepared the boat to depart, the coordinator called the police to find out details. As Spirit pulled out of the base, the call to stand down came in. The casualty was in an ambulance and en route to Peebles Hospital.
VISAR appreciates calls to us that hopefully lead to nothing but could mean a huge difference to someone unable to report in for themselves.
