USCG called the VISAR coordinator with a suspected Heart Attack at the Bight, Norman Island. Spirit of Tortola III launched with five crew members. Spirit came alongside the private vessel at 2214. A Doctor from another vessel was aboard and assessing the situation, the casualty was experiencing chest pain, whilst the assessment was taking place the 56 year old man suffered a heart attack.
VISAR crew applied the AED (automatic external defibrillator) and successfully revived the patient. The man was then transferred to the VISAR base as the Ambulance arrived. Spirit then returned the assisting Doctor to his vessel at the Bight and collected the casualty's family member. Crew stood down at 2333.
